Hardware and software to enhance your flight simulator experience.

SimTrim

You turn off autopilot, touch your trim wheel, and all of a sudden, ‘snap’ your elevator trim position jumps to a new angle? SimTrim was designed to fix this ‘snapping’ issue, as well as adjust the sensitivity of both analogue and digital trim wheels.

3D Prints

A collection of 3D print models for use with flight simulator. Including a DIY elevator trim wheel which uses a hall effect sensor for superior and precise control of your elevator trim. As well as Piper Arrow lever replacements for your Bravo TQ.

As a flight simmer, you have most likely spent some or a lot of money on your setup, from various controllers and display equipment to full cockpits or sim pits, all in pursuit of greater control or increased realism. I think we need a break from all that expense. At Makers Point, we offer free flight sim stuff to help increase that realism without the need to rob a bank to achieve it.

✈️ Free MSFS Software

SimTrim is free MS flight simulator trim wheel software, which is a desktop utility designed to run alongside MSFS and solves the long-standing issue of “snapping” of your trim wheel, where your physical wheel is not synchronised with the virtual wheel in the cockpit, leading to a “jump” or “snap” which can be experienced on occasion.

It also has a great feature where the sensitivity allows adjustment on-the-fly (pardon the pun) for both analogue and digital trim wheels. Please see the Sim Hanger video below to see how it works.

🛩️ Fight Simulator Articles

There is a wealth of resources available online from highly knowledgeable experts in the flight simulation community. While I do not claim to possess more expertise than these individuals, nor do I seek to compete with them, my writing aims to explore the less frequently discussed aspects of flight simulation.

In my articles, I delve into the development side of the free products created within this community. This includes examining the tools, techniques, software frameworks, and 3D-print materials that contribute to creating engaging and immersive products.

My goal is to present these subjects in a way that is both interesting and accessible, encouraging readers to think creatively about their own projects. By sharing these insights, I hope you will feel inspired to translate your ideas into tangible creations within the flight sim world.
